2014年1月6日下午，华沙大学语言文字应用研究所MichalB. Paradowski教授在后主楼914室做了题为“Does language learning need a body? Kinaesthetic modality revisited”的学术报告。外文学院的教师、博士生、硕士生和访问学者参加了此次讲座。讲座由外文学院罗少茜教授主持。

      报告中，MichalB. Paradowski博士通过一系列的实验研究试图证实，在语言习得过程中人类的认知能力、语言、身体和外部环境是共同起作用的，语言习得、理解和产出的过程同时就是人类对来自外部世界信息的认知处理过程。此次形式生动、内容丰富的讲座在研究方法和研究视角上使听众受益匪浅，大家也针对讲座内容提出了自己的思考和问题，MichalB. Paradowski博士耐心详细地给予了解答。

      MichalB. Paradowskiis an Assistant Professor at the Institute of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw. His interests include issues relating to second and third language acquisition research, cross-linguistic influence, bi- and multilingualism, psycholinguistics, and language as a complex system. Author of numerous book chapters and journal articles including high-IF publications, editor, reviewer for journals and research councils, presenter at conferences, invited speaker in Europe, America, Eastern, Western and Southeast Asia, teacher and translator trainer, ELT consultant for television, commentator for the media. In his free time he enjoys hiking in the mountains, experimenting in the kitchen, and acting on stage.
